THC honored for its Qimam Aviation Program at the Aviation Business Middle East Awards 2025
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 19 November 2025 – The Helicopter Company (THC), a PIF company and Saudi Arabia’s premier commercial helicopter operator, was recognized with the “Workforce Development Initiative of the Year” award at the Aviation Business Middle East Awards 2025, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai on 19 November 2025.
Returning for its 19th edition in 2025, the Aviation Business Middle East Awards recognize excellence and innovation across the regional aviation sector, celebrating achievements by airlines, airports, MROs, aircraft operators, and aviation service providers. The “Workforce Development Initiative of the Year” category highlights organisations that demonstrate measurable impact in training, capability-building, and advancing talent with the aviation industry.
The award acknowledges the success of THC’s Qimam Aviation Program, the company’s flagship workforce development platform dedicated to nurturing Saudi talent and advancing national capabilities in rotorcraft aviation. Through specialized pilot and technician training pathways, mentorship programs, and certification initiatives, Qimam has trained and graduated more than 100 Saudi professionals between 2022 and 2025, including 65 pilots and 40 technicians, marking a milestone in the localization of aviation expertise under Vision 2030.
The program has also celebrated historic firsts, such as the graduation of the Kingdom’s first two female helicopter pilots, among them Captain Reem Filmban, who became the world’s first female pilot certified on the Airbus H160.
This recognition reflects THC’s continued commitment to workforce development and building a sustainable, world-class aviation ecosystem in the Kingdom which empowers the next generation of aviation professionals.
